A martial arts grading is when the students aim to progress from one belt to the next. All students start their journey as a white belt.
The cost of a grading is £32 per person, this includes a certificate and a new belt. For students on a monthly plan, grading fees are already included in their regular payment.
Junior Gradings
We hold junior grading events three times per year, normally in March, July and November.
The gradings are not compulsory and your child will only be invited if your instructor thinks they are ready to take this examination.
Once a junior student reaches blue belt, we recommend that they skip every other grading event to ensure that they are completely ready to take on the higher grades.
Senior Gradings
Senior gradings are normally done on class and will be arranged when both the student and instructor think they are ready.
We hold advanced gradings twice a year, these are for senior students taking their brown belt and above, this can last between 2-4 hours.
