Sensei Lee

Ju Jitsu 5th Dan // Senior Instructor // Creative Director

Sensei Lee has been a student of Ju Jitsu and various other martial arts for over 30 years. His studies began with the (WJJF) World Ju Jitsu Federation where Lee became an instructor and a member of the WJJF Demonstration Team, being awarded his black belt in 1993. In 1998 during his studies at UCLan to become a designer, Lee began to work for Nippon UK, helping them to become one of the largest independent martial arts academies in the country. As the academies senior instructor Sensei Lee taught thousands of students, helped hundreds to achieve black belt status, and developed many talented instructors who have gone on to pursue successful careers in the martial arts industry.

Here’s what Sensei Lee had to say about his Ju Jitsu journey so far.

“Since the first moment I stepped foot on a mat as a kid, I knew Ju Jitsu was something that I would always love.

I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by some of the Ju Jitsu greats and hope that I’m passing on their wisdom, hopefully along with some of my own.

Over the years my focus has changed from trying to be the best practitioner I could be to helping other people become great teachers. I get an enormous sense of satisfaction when I see someone I have taught as a child, take the reins and teach their own classes (It also makes me feel very old). It’s a bit cheesy, but like the old saying goes “The student becomes the teacher. I believe that doing something that fundamentally can change someones life is one of the main reasons why I decided to start Enso Martial Arts®”.
